A Note to
Paralegals and Legal Assistants
We know that paralegals and legal assistants are the people who make
the law office go. We suspect that in many cases that you have
more contact with the clients than your bosses do. Therefore, you
probably hear about all the problems the client is experiencing as a
result of the situation that caused them to contact your office in the
first place. If one those problems is the need for money to get

We function as an extension of your office by helping your client
complete an application for funding, by handling requests for
funding status from your clients. and sending out documentation you

offloads work from you and we suspect you have more work than you can
handle most days. What we will need from you is to have you refer
your client to us and to provide case documentation to us when we
request it following contact with your client. You only need to
supply one copy of documentation to us. If it is necessary for us
to contact multiple underwriting companies, then we will handle the
process of sending the case information to each of them. This
should save you time and your firm money. Many of our
underwriters will probably want to discuss the case with your boss, and
some may request that the attorney complete a questionnaire about the
litigation. In most cases we try to have only one underwriter at
a time looking at a specific case so that your boss is not inundated
with calls from multiple underwriters at the same time on a
specific case.

to your clients. However, if your firm is not comfortable in referring
